17 of July

International Criminal Justice Day

UNAPOLOG'ETHICS was publicly announced on July 17, 2025 and intentionally launched one year later, on International Criminal Justice Day.

While rooted in a deeply personal journey through adversity and questions of justice, the project reaches far beyond one story.

Through a living research-creation, it invites a broader reflection on how individual performance — particularly its emotional and ethical dimensions — shapes organizations, institutions, and society itself.

"The emotional and ethical capacities of individuals ultimately become the emotional and ethical capacities of the systems they create."

More than a commemorative date, the 17th becomes a recurring invitation to reflect on justice, ethics, leadership, and human performance through artistic creation.

Every month, on the 17th, a new soundtrack opens the next chapter of UNAPOLOG'ETHICS. Over the weeks that follow, each chapter unfolds through music, photography, documentary filmmaking, field notes, research, conversations, and lived experience shared in real time.

This international research-creation culminates with the release of the feature film on July 17, 2027 — International Criminal Justice Day.

The conversation starts here.

After Hell

Actual Chapter

AFTER HELL

The Soundtrack to Chapter One

Music opens the door.

Rather than presenting a completed story, AFTER HELL opens Chapter One through music.

Over the coming weeks, the chapter itself will continue to unfold through field notes, photography, documentary excerpts, conversations, and moments of everyday life shared publicly as this living research-creation progresses.

These three songs are not the conclusion.

They are the beginning.

They are the soundtrack to a chapter unfolding in real time.

Guiding Light

The recurring musical theme of UNAPOLOG'ETHICS.

Released here in its first public arrangement as a cinematic R&B training anthem, Guiding Light is a battle lullaby, an intimate confession from a warrior to the child following her into battle.

Charles! (Au banc des accusés)

A joyful conversation from the bench of the accused.

Blending French roots and Americana, Charles! (Au banc des accusées) unfolds as an intimate conversation between an old warrior and His Majesty King Charles. From the bench of the accused, she asks the son of the Queen she once swore to serve:

"Do you know what is happening in your name?"

Saying Hello

The courage to be seen again.

Immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of Nashville's live music scene, Saying Hello is an uplifting Americana anthem celebrating the courage to be seen again after walking through hell.

With the wounds still beating... Saying Hello.

What  is  UNAPOLOG'ETHICS ?

UNAPOLOG'ETHICS is more than a project — it's an unfolding research-creation. The Director's Note introduces the perspective from which it emerged.

The Researcher's Perspective

UNAPOLOG'ETHICS is a living research-creation where art generates dialogue, dialogue fuels research, research inspires new creation, and the cycle continues to evolve in real time.

Rather than separating artistic creation from scientific inquiry, or lived experience from public dialogue, the project brings them together in a single evolving process. Each chapter contributes new observations, questions, creative works, and reflections, allowing the research to grow alongside the journey itself.

Researchers create indispensable knowledge, but knowledge alone rarely changes the world. It must reach people. It must spark reflection. It must inspire action.

"I'm one of the people. Before I'm a researcher, an artist, or a former soldier, I'm a human being sharing this planet with everyone else. If I've been blessed with gifts, then I believe it's my responsibility not only to create knowledge, but also to bring it home... to the people. That's why I create."

At its heart, UNAPOLOG'ETHICS asks a simple question:

What kind of human being do we become when the storm comes?

Through art, sport, science, and conversation, the project explores how ethics, leadership, resilience, and human performance emerge under pressure — not only in sport and the arts, but also within families, organizations, communities, and the complex systems that shape our societies, including the justice system.

The first chapter of the Director's Notebook traces the evolution of this question over more than twenty years and introduces the researcher's perspective behind UNAPOLOG'ETHICS.

JOIN THE CONVERSATION

I believe knowledge doesn't belong in the higher spheres alone.

Have you ever lived with the consequences of someone else's decision? Often, the people making those decisions have little understanding of what life actually feels like for those who must live with them.

I'm one of the people.

I've been through more than I ever imagined. Yet that journey has only strengthened my belief that every one of us has the power to contribute to the betterment of the world we share.

Perspective is not built in isolation. It is forged by listening.

No point of view is worthless. Each of us sees the world through a perspective no one else can offer — shaped by who we are, where we come from, and how life has unfolded for us.

That's why UNAPOLOG'ETHICS isn't simply a project to watch.

It's a conversation to join.

It begins on social media. Over time, I hope it will grow into conversations here, in communities around the world, and perhaps one day, face to face.

After all, this is an international project.

Why shouldn't we meet?

I'm inviting you, personally, to become part of it.
